Are mist sprayers prone to pipe clogging or aging after long-term storage?

2025.03.11

The mist sprayer can provide a uniform and delicate spraying effect during use, but if it is stored for a long time, the pipeline may be blocked or aged, affecting its normal use.
During long-term storage, one of the main reasons for pipeline blockage is the deposition of residual liquid. If the mist sprayer is not thoroughly cleaned after use, fine particles or viscous substances may remain in the pipeline, which will gradually adhere to the pipe wall over time and form blockages. In particular, solutions containing solid components, such as medicines, perfumes or disinfectants, may decompose or crystallize during standing, narrowing the pipeline or even completely blocking it, causing the mist sprayer to fail to work properly. In addition, some liquids may undergo oxidation reactions after long-term exposure to air, generating precipitates or viscous substances, thereby increasing the risk of pipeline blockage.
In addition to liquid residue, external environmental factors may also cause mist sprayer pipeline blockage or aging. For example, if the mist sprayer is stored in a hot or humid environment, it may accelerate the evaporation of the liquid, leaving solidified residues in the pipeline. In addition, dust or tiny particles in the air may also form blockages after long-term accumulation if they enter the pipeline, affecting the spray effect. If the storage environment temperature is too low, some liquids may solidify, affecting the spraying channel in the pipeline and reducing the efficiency of the mist sprayer.
Pipe aging is mainly related to the material and storage environment. The pipes of the mist sprayer are usually made of plastic, rubber or other synthetic materials. These materials may gradually harden, crack or lose elasticity during long-term storage due to factors such as temperature, humidity, and light. If the mist sprayer is placed in direct sunlight for a long time, ultraviolet rays may accelerate the aging of plastics and rubber, making them brittle or changing color. If the storage environment is too humid, some materials may absorb moisture, causing the pipe wall structure to soften, thus affecting the sealing and normal use of the mist sprayer.
To reduce the occurrence of these problems, some maintenance measures can be taken. First, the pipe should be thoroughly cleaned before storage to ensure that there is no liquid residue inside to avoid the formation of sediment. It can be rinsed repeatedly with clean water or a special cleaning solution, and ensure that it is completely dry before storage. Secondly, when storing the mist sprayer, a dry and cool environment should be selected to avoid direct sunlight and places with high or low temperatures to reduce the speed of material aging. In addition, the mist sprayer should be stored away from external squeezing or long-term bending to maintain the shape and patency of the pipe.
When the mist sprayer is reactivated after a long period of non-use, it is recommended to check and test it first to ensure that the pipe is unobstructed and the spray effect is normal. You can try to use clean water for test spraying first to observe whether there is abnormal flow or uneven spray. If you find that the nozzle is blocked or the pipe spray is not smooth, you can try deep cleaning and replace damaged or aged parts if necessary. If the pipe has obvious hardening, cracks or deformation, it is recommended to replace it in time to ensure the safety and effect of the mist sprayer.
