The influence of trigger sprayer nozzle shape on spray pattern

2024.09.17

The shape of trigger sprayer nozzle is the direct shaper of spray pattern. Common nozzle shapes include cone, fan, cylinder and some specially designed shapes, such as spiral, multi-hole distribution, etc. Each shape has its own unique spray characteristics:
Conical nozzle: The spray produced by this nozzle is distributed in a cone, with dense spray center and gradually sparse at the edge. Conical nozzles are suitable for scenes that require concentrated spray or precise control of spray area, such as fixed-point prevention and control of pests and diseases in agriculture or precise spraying in industry. Its advantage is high spray concentration, but it may cause insufficient spray volume in the edge area, affecting uniformity.
Fan nozzle: The spray produced by fan nozzle is fan-shaped, with a wide and uniform coverage. This nozzle is particularly suitable for scenes that require large-area coverage, such as foliar fertilization in agriculture, orchard irrigation or large-area spraying in household cleaning. The advantage of fan nozzle is good spray uniformity, but it may cause excessive spray in some areas due to excessive spray range.
Cylindrical nozzle: The spray shape produced by the cylindrical nozzle is between the cone and the fan, and the spray distribution is relatively uniform and has a certain penetration. This nozzle is suitable for scenes that require medium-range coverage and certain penetration, such as car washing, surface cleaning of industrial equipment, etc.
Special shape nozzle: With the development of science and technology, more and more special shape nozzles have been developed, such as spiral nozzles, multi-hole distribution nozzles, etc. These nozzles achieve a finer and more uniform spray effect by changing the flow trajectory and fragmentation method of the liquid. For example, the spiral nozzle refines the spray by generating a rotating airflow, improving the uniformity and coverage of the spray; the multi-hole distribution nozzle sprays through multiple small holes at the same time to achieve a large area and uniform spray coverage.
